A year from now…

A year from now, what’s changed?

Take some time to build a detailed image of the world you will inhabit a year from now. You’ve leveraged your one big reason and one big obstacle. You’ve followed through on your strategies and tactics, and you’ve cultivated ways to honor the accompanying discomfort without letting it throw you off track (at least only temporarily). You’ve made some progress, whatever this means to you.

Build out the world of your life a year from now. What is the universe of thoughts, feelings, sensations, structures, systems, schedules, etc?

Spend time making this world as detailed as possible. Write down or in some other way represent this world in a visual and tactile way. If it’s not writing in a journal, maybe it’s a drawing, or it could even be an item you can keep with you or put on your nightstand that reminds you of the world you are building.

This is one way to keep you on course and move through discomfort. In tough moments, you can remind yourself of where you are headed — the world you are building as specifically and clearly as possible.
